Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Paro – Welcome to Bhutan

Kuzuzangpo! Welcome to Bhutan, the Land of Happiness. Your guide and driver will greet you at Paro International Airport and take you to Paro town. On the way, stop at the Paro Airport Birds Eye View Point for a stunning panorama of the valley, Rinpung Dzong, and the Paro River.

Visit the historic Paro Dzong, a magnificent fortress that stands as a symbol of Bhutan’s rich heritage. Then, explore the Bhutan National Museum, housed in a former watchtower, to discover ancient artifacts, religious paintings, and traditional costumes. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Bhutanese dinner, optionally accompanied by a cultural dance show. Overnight in Paro.


Day 2: Paro to Punakha via Dochula Pass

After breakfast, drive to Punakha via the breathtaking Dochula Pass. At 3,120 meters, the pass offers panoramic views of the Himalayas and 108 chortens honoring Bhutanese soldiers. Descend into the warm Punakha Valley and visit Chimi Lhakhang, the Fertility Temple, known for its unique phallus symbols and blessings.

In Punakha, explore the stunning Punakha Dzong, a fortress at the confluence of two rivers. Admire its intricate architecture and learn about its role in Bhutan’s history. Overnight in Punakha.


Day 3: Punakha Festival & Gangtey Valley

If visiting in February, witness the vibrant Punakha Festival, featuring colorful mask dances and traditional performances at Punakha Dzong. Afterward, cross the Punakha Suspension Bridge for stunning views of the valley and hike to Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten, a hilltop stupa offering breathtaking vistas.

In the afternoon, drive to Gangtey Valley, a serene glacial valley known for its natural beauty and the endangered black-necked cranes. Overnight in Gangtey.


Day 4: Gangtey to Thimphu – Nature & Culture

Start your day with a light hike on the Gangtey Nature Trail, passing through pine forests, farmhouses, and bamboo groves. Visit Gangtey Monastery, an ancient Buddhist temple with stunning views of the valley. Then, stop at the Black-Necked Cranes Information Center to learn about these rare birds.

Drive to Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital, and visit Tashichho Dzong, the seat of the government. Overnight in Thimphu.


Day 5: Thimphu Exploration

Begin your day at the Bhutan Post Office, where you can create personalized stamps with your photo. Next, visit the School of Arts and Crafts to see students mastering Bhutan’s 13 traditional arts. At the Simply Bhutan Museum, experience interactive exhibits showcasing Bhutanese life.

In the afternoon, visit the National Memorial Chorten and the iconic Buddha Dordenma Statue, which offers stunning views of Thimphu Valley. Drive back to Paro and overnight there.


Day 6: Tiger’s Nest Monastery Hike

Embark on the highlight of your trip – the hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery. Perched on a cliff 900 meters above the valley, this iconic site is Bhutan’s most sacred pilgrimage destination. The hike takes about 5-6 hours round trip, with breathtaking views of the Paro Valley.

After the hike, visit Drukgyel Dzong, a historic fortress with views of Mount Jomolhari, and Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest temples. Optionally, enjoy a traditional hot stone bath or light butter lamps for blessings. Overnight in Paro.


Day 7: Departure from Paro

It’s time to say goodbye to Bhutan. Your guide will escort you to Paro International Airport for your onward journey. Carry with you the memories of Bhutan’s stunning landscapes, rich culture, and warm hospitality. Safe travels!
